Hello,
I'm Marianne and I've been running this blog since March 2013. I started blogging around the same time I started writing my personal statement to apply to university, as I was told, since I wanted to one day work in journalism or media, that I should do something to show my passion for writing. I now write live music and album reviews as well as general rants about social issues and politics. I also write my own fiction, but you'll have to ask me personally if you want to read any of that!
I'm from Newcastle but currently am a BA Hons French student at the University of Manchester. I mostly chose Manchester for its thriving music scene and history, and I often travel to go to gigs. I've even travelled as far as Southampton (that's 320 miles!) to see one of my favourite bands.
My favourite music genres are pop punk and metalcore, with some of my favourite bands including Parkway Drive, Neck Deep, Northlane and La Dispute. However I do have a very diverse music taste and also listen to a lot of 80s and 90s bands as well as the occasional rap and grime artist.
